Third Month of Exercise and Plexus

Well it has been about 3 months since I started my exercise program.  During my first 3 months I gained 10 pounds.  Then by the 3rd month I lost the 10 pounds I gained.  I went to the lady who evaluated me when I began my exercise program.  She measured my neck, arms, chest, waist, legs etc...  She said I had lost 1" in every spot.  Wow!! I'm back at my 40 lb loss and I am an inch smaller all over.  YAYYYYyyyy!  I got on the scale recently and I have lost another 4 pounds.  It's been hard, real hard doing those exercises.  I first started with 2  sets of 12 reps.  Then I increased it to 3 sets of 12 reps.  Now I'm at 4 sets of 12 reps.  My weight is still at the lowest setting but it is kicking my butt.  The exercise counselor said I should increase my cardio.  So I moved from the treadmill to the elliptical.  I never sweat but I do now working out on that elliptical.  I did 15 minutes for as fast as I could.  Now I am up to 30 minutes.  I'm trying to work to 35 and just try and do it faster.  But, I just wanted to let everyone know I am getting it done! One pound and one inch at a time!  I also added the Pro Bio 5 and Bio Cleanse from Plexus to my regimen.  I am feeling and looking great to!

One Month & Counting

Well I have been exercising along with my diet program for about a month now.  I haven't weighed my self in quite a while.  I have noticed that I have been shrinking.  I have changed my workout program to 3 days of weights and 3 days of cardio.  I'm still lifting at pretty much the lowest weights.  In the first month I really struggled with a couple of the machines.  You sure didn't want to be around me while I was doing those.  I would moan, groan and struggle just to finish my 2 reps of 12 at approximately 25lbs of weight.  Today I can do them better with out all the serious struggling.  This is a very slow process but I'm doing it.  This past Friday I was working out and there was a lady with a cane that appeared to be in her 70's.  She reminded me of the little old lady on the Golden Girls Sophia.  She went directly to the the weights and began her exercises.  I watched her do all of her exercises with ease and a smile on her face.  I was in awe and shame to witness this.  Why may you ask?  Well darn it she was lifting the same thing as me and I'm still struggling, although not as much as in the beginning, with lifting the 25lb weights.  Oh, I still have some work ahead of me. That same Friday I was doing the treadmill.  There was a gentleman in his 60's doing what was a machine that was a combo of stair climber and you can also run with some bars swinging like you are skiing.  We got on at the same time.  He had that machine swinging and skiing as fast as it would go.  For 30 minutes I walked really fast and he swung/ran for the entire 30 minutes.  I finished my walk and he was still sweating and swinging with sweat running down all over his body.  Well for me I tried that same machine.  I barely made it 10 minutes and had to quit.  I only swung/ran for 5 of that 10 minutes.  Well I know by looking at these 2 people I need to do this even more.  They both were healthy and happy.  I will be a more healthier and happier me in 2013!

The Second Week

The second week was better. I think.....  I went to the gym faithfully for 30 minutes of workout time each day.  I did 3 days of cardio and 2 days of weight training.  For the cardio workouts, I did the elliptical one day, the cross trainer the next and finished my week off with the treadmill.  Well, out of the three the cross trainer kicked my butt.  Then for my two days of weight training I said oh this is gonna be a breeze.  Two repetitions of 12 on a very light weight.  Then I thought to myself my legs are in great shape.  I don't know why I'm even doing these machines.  Well I did my 2 reps for my upper body with only a little struggle.  But, oh when I got to my legs.  I could barely finish each leg exercise.  The abductor I got a cramp so bad I could hardly get out of the machine.  So point to remember, your never in as good a shape as you think you are.  Well back to the gym we go!!!!

The First Week At The Gym

Well I started my gym regimen on January 28th.  I wanted to have an physical assessment before I started by the lady in charge was out on leave.  So I took it upon myself to make my own exercise program until she returned.  On day one I walked at a real fast pace on the treadmill for 50 minutes.  When I got off I couldn't even walk.  I leaned up against the wall for a few minutes and I was fine.  On day 2 I said well I can try the elliptical.  Let say for the same 50 minutes.  Yea, right! by 15 minutes I was hanging on the machine and felt like I was about to keel over and die.  I rode for 5 more minutes before I made myself quit.  On day 3 I tried to work out on the weights.  I had done 3 reps of 12 and with each repetition I increased the weights.  By this day I was sore, really sore. I finally had my appointment on the Thursday.  The lady said I am still 79lbs over my target weight.  I told her about my workout for the week and she said girl you are over doing it.  I am only supposed to do 30 minutes of cardio and only increase the difficulty over the next few months.  The weights I was doing some of the machines wrong and only needed to keep the weight the same and only do 2 reps of 12 for the next 3 months.  During our discussion about my weight loss already she told me to stay off the scale for the next 3 months.  It was told to me that my muscles will begin to weigh more than my fat.  She will measure my body again and my loss should be in inches.  I also found out that working out at the gym is totally different than at home.  The energy and excitement from everyone there makes it an enjoyable experience.  One day I met a lady who was once over 300 lbs.  She began a diet change and added exercise.  She said her first month she couldn't even walk around the track once. Now she has lost 80 pounds and walks a mile around the track.  The second day at the gym I met a man who had a stroke  in 2009.  He couldn't walk nor talk.  He said God had spoke to him one night.  In his dream he was told that he could get well again.  He began slowly exercising and in January of 2012 he began coming to the gym.  Now he walks very swiftly around the track for 2 miles and this year has begun a more intense weight lifting program.  The third day I meet a lady who like me just began at the gym.  She is elderly and said she needs some encouragement.  She moves very slowly.  She got her assessment that day and she is ready to begin her lifestyle change also.  Every day that I go to the gym I meet another amazing person with a story to tell.  They all give great encouragement and never look down upon you.  I am looooooving the gym.

The Beginning Of My Journey

In 2012 I had done like everyone else and made a resolution to lose weight.  January of 2012 I was at my heaviest I had ever been in my life. At that moment I began a lifestyle change.  I began by eating out less.  I only went out to eat twice a month with my family and only when I absolutely had to with work.  Then I slowly weaned myself off of sodas.  I was drinking one soda a day. Then I subtracted one a week until I was not drinking a single soda.  I also figured out it doesn't matter what kind of sugar you have.  Your body processes the fake stuff the same as the real deal.  I increased my water intake and there ya go. From January to May I was so proud at how well I was doing with my lifestyle change.  Except I didn't have energy to do physical activities when I was home.  I was still wanting to take naps after lunch.  Well I got on the scale in January and then again in May. WOW! I lost 5 pounds. WHAT!!!!! 5 pounds.  Well during that time my niece Kristen was also working on her resolution to lose weight and in the same amount of time she lost 40 pounds.  I had a consultation with her when the kids got out of school.  Kristen introduced me to Plexus Products.  I was hooked on the idea that this product has all natural ingredients and is not necessarily a diet product.  It has vitamins and minerals that give you the energy to move.  A side effect of the product was weight loss.  So I made my first order the first week of June and began my Plexus regimen.  Well this is how Plexus worked for me.  I lost a few pounds and then nothing.  I felt my pants were loose. I thought nothing of it.  Then I started to lose a few more pounds.  Then nothing. I felt disgusted.  One day I was walking up the stairs while holding something and my pants fell down.  I said darn these damn things are all stretched out and need to be thrown away.  Well the next week or two this kept happening. I went to look in the closet and I had no more pants. Oh my gosh, it hit me! I'm losing inches.  The fat was melting away.  Then the weight began to come off some more.  Up until November 2012 I lost 39 pounds. Yea a pound or two a week and it added up to 39 pounds.  Well I am so excited about my weight loss that I want more, a lot more! So on January 3, 2013 I was fixing my bath water that morning and saw on facebook a poll question for Channel 5 News.  The first person to answer the question correctly would win this book "Seven Years Younger".  Guess who won? Yea me! I went to the TV station to pick up the book.  Crystal Whitman meet me in the loby and began a conversation with me about her wanting to get physical and follow the book.  We began texting and messaging each other. Crystal put an idea in my head for the both of us to join the local gym. I thought about it and with encouragement from friends I enrolled at the "Louisiana Athletic Club" on January 28th.  Well this is where my real challenge will begin. Oh what a ride it will be.  Crystal I'm starting without you!!!

This is a video that explains the Plexus products that I was taking.
